ECY Awards Scholarship

Christy Sanders - 2009 Dan Parker Scholarship Recipient

The General ECY Department is pleased to announce Christy Sanders as the 2008-09 recipient of the General ECY Dan Parker Scholarship.  Christy attends Gallipolis CCCU and is graduate of Ohio Valley Christian School.  Early in her life, Christy felt the influence of a godly family and committed her life to the Lord at age seven.  It was in Uganda, where her parents were serving as missionaries, that she became interested in business, finance, and investments.  Christy felt God was leading her toward a career in financial management.  However, it was during her senior year of high school that God's plan for her life became clear.  On her senior trip to Madrid, Spain, she received a call to be a missionary. 

Christy has a passion to take the gospel message to the ends of the earth.  She will study both Missions and Business at Ohio Christian University.  Her plans are to pursue a career in missions with an emphasis in business and management. Join us in congratulating Christy as the 2008-09 recipient of the General ECY Scholarship.

Our goal in the ECY Department is to partner with local churches to make disciples of students and to release those students for ministry.  Christy is a shining example of the fruit that God is producing in the CCCU.  Together we can continue to reach this generation and generations beyond for Christ! 

The General ECY Dan Parker Scholarship is awarded annually to an incoming freshman student majoring in ministry at Ohio Christian University.  Considerations for the scholarship include membership in a local CCCU church, high school GPA, pastor’s reference, evidence of a solid work ethic, commitment to serving others, and a clear Christian testimony.  Interested students are invited to apply each spring.
